There are many aspects that make Simmers Contracts Ltd one of the leading providers of steel fabrication to Aberdeenshire, Moray and beyond. Our purpose built facility, our experienced and skilled team and our cutting edge technology combine to make us the fabricator of choice. We specialise in the fabrication and erection of structural steel and the installation of metal cladding for large industrial and commercial buildings.
Our workshop is fully equipped to accommodate the requirements of our trade and comprises of 37,000 sq ft of floor space, plenty of height for complex fabrications, and a very accessible area for larger delivery projects.
Our purpose built facility is located at the edge of Aberdeenshire on the A96. Being located mid-way between Inverness and Aberdeen allows us to meet and exceed delivery targets and expectations for clients across the country.
Our fabrication team consists of highly experienced fabricators, fitters, welders and CNC operators. Simmers Contracts are fortunate that the majority of the workshop staff have been with the company long term and are extremely skilled and proficient in their individual roles.
We have a highly skilled and carefully selected workshop team, capable of turning around 80 – 100 tonnes per week and the workshop has capacity to exceed this on demand. Due to our experience and expertise, we are approved to IS0 9001 and CE Execution Class 3. We follow a strict set of processes to allow us to maximise communication and efficiency in any project.
Our current process:
Stage 1: Needs Identification
This is where we identify the exact needs of our client. We will discuss building use, the footprint of the project, the specs and design of the final structure, delivery, budget and potential roadblocks.
Stage 2: Project Proposal
Once we are clear on your requirements we will develop our project plan. We will identify the ideal project delivery dates, the scope of work, pricing, quantity of steel requires, erection sequence and any and all safety needs and precautions.
Stage 3: Steel Erection Plan and Build
The final stage of planning and building will begin when stage 2 is finalised. The budget and schedules will be defined, final shop and design drawings will be produced, the steel will be engineered and fabricated, and we will project manage and deliver the full steel erection build to match your specifications.
Our workshop has installed some of the best and most durable equipment available to deliver exceptional capacity for a huge variety of fabrication jobs.
Our four 6.5 tonne Demag overhead cranes allow us to distribute materials easily and safely across multiple active fabrication projects and give our experienced crew the lifting support to tackle bespoke fabrications with ease.
A CNC Plasma Cutting Machine with an integrated hypertherm truehole programme, enables us to cut and punch a complete fitting in one operation. This machine produces steel plates and fittings to specification with precision.
Our various welding equipment is suspended on rotary overhead runways to maximise floor working areas and increase the versatility of our output. Our certified welders can use this flexibility to adapt to suit countless unique situations.
